The Bullfighter

Geraldo F. Olivo's play, The Bullfighter, will have a Houston staged reading, featuring David Rainey, Alley Theatre Resident Company Member for the past 12 years and Artistic Director of The Landing Theatre Company, playing the lead character of Gene.

Nationally, David has performed for Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Hartford Stage Company, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the National Actors Theatre, the Guthrie Theatre, Joseph Papp Public Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, The Acting Company, New York Shakespeare Festival, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Ford’s Theatre, Asolo Theatre Company, Dallas Theatre Center, Shakespeare Festival LA, Crossroads Theatre Company, Stark Naked Theatre Company and the Houston Grand Opera, among others. David is a graduate of The Juilliard School in New York City, where he finished top of his class.

The cast, who are active and veteran members of the Houston theatre scene, include Kalob Martinez, Matt Benton, Jeff Dorman, Susan Ly, Dave Osbie Shepard, Shondra Marie, Jonathan Gonzalez, Darin Montemayor and Ryan Heitzman. Read actor biographies here.  

Be Theatre House is producing the Houston staged reading of The Bullfighter. Be Theatre House is a member of the Be House companies, including Be Bookhouse, a publishing company founded by the creative team of Geraldo Olivo, Robert Cortez and Alfredo Cortez.
