Nicole works in Operations for United Airlines and teaches yoga and aerial yoga part-time. She has extensive experience marketing the arts, through running a boutique marketing and PR firm, Sage PR. She has also taught marketing, PR and Sales at the Art Institute and continuing education classes at the Glasscock School at Rice. Joe has lived in the Houston area since 1976. He brings nearly 30 years of professional IT experience and more than two decades of supporting the performing arts in the greater Houston community to the board. Joe has worked in several different capacities with various dance organizations including North Houston Dance Theater and Klein Oak Dance Company. Joe's work has worked in various positions including stage manager, prop manager, stage crew and performer for performances at multiple venues around Houston.
Tom is a native Houstonian (unless you count a couple months in Austin) who was first introduced to FrenetiCore in 2011, he immediately became a fan and joined the board in early 2012. He has a BA in Archeology from Rice. He also studied Archeology at Yale and has done research in Martha’s Vineyard and southern Wales. As an avid soccer fan, he supports the Dynamo in Houston’s East End adjacent to Frenetic Theater. Recently, Tom completed a Masters in Economics at the University of Houston. Tom’s favorite FrenetiCore event is the annual Anti-Love Gala, and he greatly enjoyed the 2012 Badu-isms show.
Steve Patlan - President
A life-long resident of the Houston-Galveston area, Steve attended Rice University and worked as a NASA contractor for 25 years. He has been a member, supporter, audience member, and sometimes volunteer photographer of many Houston arts organizations since the 1980s. He took his first steps as a performer in January 2012, starting 40 weeks of improv comedy classes with The New Movement Theater.
Michael L. Roberts grew up in Michigan, attended the University of Michigan for his degree in aerospace engineering, and went to work for NASA while still in school. After a ten year career with the space agency designing advanced lunar and Mars missions, as well as participating in projects for the Space Shuttle and Space Station programs, he took an early retirement. Having finished law school at night while working for NASA, he briefly maintained a very unsatisfying private law practice. In 1994 he started an Internet company named Vannevar New Media to build commercial Web sites and applications. During this time he also appeared as The Computer Guy on KPRC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Houston, and spoke about the Internet around the world at various tech industry conferences. Since selling Vannevar in 1999, he has pursued software consulting and artificial intelligence research, doing work for international companies like Tele Atlas and Disney. He currently resides in Austin and appears regularly with The Dionysium (www.dionysium.com), a live educational variety show for adults held monthly at The Alamo Drafhouse Village location. He is a longtime fan and supporter of FrenetiCore going back to the company's founding.
Adam Walker - Secretary
Shiva Zamen - Vice President
Shiva is a native Houstonian who first came to Freneticore as a student. After attending classes on and off for a couple of years, going to performances and getting to see Rebecca's vision in work, she wanted to get involved further and joined the board. Shiva is among other local urban pioneers and loves living, playing and working in Houston's East End. She works at a litigation law firm by day and teaches at Aerial Yoga Houston, just down the street from Freneticore. It's organizations such as Freneticore that gives this city some home grown soul!
