Matt Crawford and Che' Rickman are FrenetiCore's current Artist in Residence. They have several projects in the work, both as solo artist and collaboratively. 2010 Houston Fringe Festival attendees were able to see their first project as Artist in Residece: a beautifully choergraphed dance incorporating light painting and led costumes by Matt and Che'.

Matt Crawford is a Houston based location and post-production audio professional. He entered the world of sound as a DJ and sound designer for many of the local theaters. Matt worked as a sound mixer for Japanese Animation at ADV films, where he then became the primary sound designer/mixer for The Anime Network. Matt’s most recent documentary One-Eyed Girl was screened across Texas by the Texas Film Commission. His recent post production audio credits include For the Sake of the Song: The Story of Anderson Fair and Space, Land, and Time: Underground Adventures with Ant Farm.
Artistically Matt likes to explore the fusion on sound, movement and interactive digital technologies.

Matt and Che have been working together artistically since they met and took their first sculpture class together in 1995. In Che’s undergraduate studies they formed a performance group “Grey Gorilla Fashion Patrol”. The “Fashion Patrol” broke all the rules of traditional fashion shows.
Over the years Matt and Che have continued to work collaboratively on “process oriented” art that looks to demonstrate that there is a value in simply going through the creative process. One of the elements that they want to express is that art is accessible and pertinent in anyone’s life. Art does not need to be on a wall, art is very often action and the response we have to the simple act of creation.
Documenting their performances led Matt and Che down the road of Documentary Filmmaking with an artistic twist.
Their first documentary One-Eyed Girl, was an uplifting Hurricane Katrina story, focusing on the power of a small community based in Bay Saint Louis, MS.

In 2008 Matt and Che co-founded, Thin Line Film Fest, a documentary film festival in Denton TX. For the first two years of the festival Che served as Director of Logistics and Matt the Creative Director.
Matt & Che’s most recent artistic endeavor has been Light Painting, a long exposure photographic process created moving hand held lights. Successful light painting is essentially an "interpretive performance". The artist is moving through time and space capturing a specific series of actions that engage technical as well as creative processes. They are currently working on their second documentary Luminary, a worldwide exploration of Light Painting and its artists. http://luminarymovie.com/
Also in the works is Texas by Light, a Light Painting short movie collaboration with two French artists, Marko-93 and Mehdi Idir.
Che and Matt are delighted to join the team at Frenetic Theater, which has already allowed them to take Light Painting into the world of Dance.
